STORY

I took a trip to Acadia this past September with a group of women I adore.

They got us tickets to see the sunrise at the top of the park one of the mornings we were there.

I thought that I've seen sunrises before.

But none were like this.

That millisecond when the sun breaks through the horizon...there are just no words.

I'm going to take that one with me forever.

STORY

I decided to paint the guest room at my old house yellow.

Well, it was yellowish.

A shade called Anjou Pear.

Also, how is it possible that I can remember a paint color from 2011…but cannot remember a single person’s name?!

I wanted so badly to love it.

But even as I painted it, I knew that it was the single most awful color I have ever picked out for any room…ever.

Instead of stopping there and picking out a different color…I convinced myself that it just needed a second coat…and to see it through.

Turns out…gray was a much better choice.
