36in×36in. Oil on Newspaper Covered Canvas.

An old boyfriend, told me that I wore rose colored glasses.

I laughed it off, singing loudly and somewhat off key, that I'd rather think the best than the worst.

Now, this has not always served me well…

But there have been so many times that believing everything would be ok was exactly what got me through.

The rosiness may have faded a bit over the years…right along with my hair color…

But it's still there.

Teresa Haag

I'm a gritty urban landscape painter.

My work is messy, and imperfect...just like me.

I work in oil on top of newspaper covered canvas because of the texture, depth, and chatter the newspaper creates below the surface.

I paint what I see, without any prettification.

It is what it is, and it’s perfect that way.

The running themes in my work are resilience, grit, and self-determination.

It doesn’t matter the hand we are dealt, it’s what we decide to do with it.
