I sell Soul disguised as original art.

There are few better ways that I can think of in life to make yourself feel surrounded by people that get you than to surround yourself with original art that gets you.

Like, that friend that you share inside jokes with…when you just have to make a face or say a syllable to provoke that knowing side glance and chuckle.

Like going to see your favorite band and standing in a crowd of strangers belting out at the top of your lungs the words to every single song.

Like running a 10 miler, and standing in the end gathering point, medals around sweaty necks, red faced eating bananas with your squad of strangers that you just went through hell with.

There are few better ways that I can think of in life to make yourself feel surrounded by people that get you than to surround yourself with original art that gets you.

That is what collecting art is like.  Some people understand this…and it's apparent by their fervor and slightly addictive behavior around the sport of art (eh hmm - you know who you are), and some don’t and think we collectors are out of our mind spending WHHHHHAT??? on thaaaaaat!!!…cue you best wide-eyed shocked face here.

I was recently asked to answer a fairly simple question for  a class that I am taking, “What do you sell.”

Well, I sell art.
No, wait...I sell connection.
Close, but not quite...
really...I sell soul, disguised as original art.

Not one painting that I have ever created came from anywhere else but my actual soul. Seriously.  And when someone connects to this enough to exchange their hard earned dollar dollar bills y’all, my soul’s bucket is filled so high that it’s sloshing out of the sides and spreading love all over the place.

I thank everyone that has brought a piece of me into their lives…I hope it fills you with joy knowing that that I get you..and hope that you feel like you get me, because that is the whole reason why I do what I do.  <3
